Cooking With Kids at Home - It Can Be A Fun Activity

Even if you’re pressed for time, cooking with your kids at home can be a fun activity for both of you, and you’ll be able to make sure they’re getting a healthy meal out of it as well. Children can be picky about food, but they’re much more likely to eat something they’ve made themselves.
And as a bonus: your child will learn how to cook!
Let’s look at some simple recipes you can make with your kids:
Lasagna Cups
Lasagna is delicious, but it takes so long to make. Now you can mix that up a bit and get something far easier that tastes just as good! All you need is your marinara sauce, wonton wraps, cheese, and ground beef. Get your child to prepare the cupcake pan with grease and help them layer all the ingredients. Once your lasagna cups are baked, not only do you have yummy lasagna, it’s also much cuter than a big dish that’ll eventually head into the freezer.
Salad in a Jar
Salads are the one thing we all probably have the most trouble feeding our children. Now you can change that by making a salad in a jar! Give each of your kids one jar and complete control over what to put in the jars, as long as they have some veggies. Let them layer all of these things in the jar on their own. You can even let them slice the veggies themselves if they are old enough, with supervision. The jars would look colorful and pretty, and most importantly, your kids made them with you!
Mac ‘n Cheese
You can never go wrong with the classic mac ’n cheese. It’s simple, it doesn’t take long to make, and everyone loves it! If your kids are old enough to use the stove with supervision, you can help them make this simple dish. All you need to do is cook the pasta in milk at low heat, stirring often. Once it’s done, remove it from the heat and add some cheddar cheese. Stir that in until it’s melted and add some salt. Your dish is ready, and your child learned a fun new recipe!
Bread Pizza
These are probably the simplest pizzas you can make, and you don’t have to spend hours on them. In fact, with your kids, you can even make sure they don’t end up spending time picking toppings off their pizzas. All you need is a few slices of bread, some marinara sauce, and cheese. Bring out a bunch of stuff from the pantry and set them up as a toppings bar, that your kids can go through and design their own special pizza. It takes very little time, and your kids can even have fun with decorating the pizza the way they want!
Cooking with kids can be fun, but you’ll have to make sure you are supervising them carefully when they use knives or the stove and remember to get them to clean up after themselves!
